Data Center Construction Manager, Large Campus Build

The challenge

A new 200 MW campus is breaking ground with a 16-month delivery target for the first phase. You will manage the MEP subcontractor coordination and critical path for a building that cannot slip by a single week.

Role overview

Day-to-day construction operations for a hyperscale data center build. Coordinating 15+ trade contractors, managing a CPM schedule with 2,000+ activities, and maintaining the commissioning timeline that the client's operations team depends on for tenant commitments.

Specializations

Technical requirements

• BS in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent field experience
• 10+ years in commercial construction management, with 5+ years on mission-critical or data center projects
• Demonstrated experience managing projects exceeding $200M in total construction value
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 or equivalent CPM scheduling tools
• Understanding of data center MEP systems including generators, switchgear, UPS, and cooling plants
• OSHA 30 certification

Key responsibilities

• Manage construction operations for a 200 MW hyperscale data center campus build
• Maintain and update the critical path method schedule with 2,000+ activities across all trades
• Coordinate MEP subcontractor work sequences to avoid spatial and temporal conflicts
• Lead weekly owner-architect-contractor meetings and produce actionable meeting minutes
• Track and manage a construction budget exceeding $800M across multiple phases
• Oversee quality control programs including concrete testing, torque verification, and electrical termination inspections

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $170,000 - $205,000
• Project completion bonus (8-12% of base)
