Apply to this role

Firm Topology

NewSpace company developing electric propulsion systems for satellite station-keeping and orbit transfer, with a growing customer base of LEO and GEO operators.

The Team

Reports to the Chief Propulsion Engineer. Six propulsion engineers and three test engineers collaborate across design, analysis, and vacuum chamber testing.

The challenge

A GEO operator needs an electric propulsion system that provides 15 years of station-keeping from a package weighing under 35 kg including propellant. Current systems achieve 12 years in a 40 kg package.

Role overview

You design electric propulsion systems for spacecraft applications, from mission requirements through thruster specification, feed system design, and integration with the spacecraft bus. The physics of electric propulsion -- specific impulse, thrust efficiency, lifetime characterization -- are the daily work.

Specializations
