Senior C4ISR Systems Engineer, Tactical Networks

The challenge

The tactical mesh network needs to maintain connectivity when 30% of nodes are destroyed or jammed. Current resilience testing shows degraded performance at 15% node loss.

Role overview

Tactical communications systems connecting warfighters on the battlefield. Waveform design, network architecture, and system integration where the RF environment is actively contested and the network has to keep working through it.

Specializations

Technical requirements

• BSEE or BS Computer Science
• 8+ years in military communications or C4ISR systems engineering
• Understanding of tactical data links (Link 16, TTNT, CDL)
• Experience with software-defined tactical radio systems and waveform management
• Knowledge of JADC2 architecture and DoD networking standards
• Active TS/SCI clearance required

Key responsibilities

• Design tactical mesh network architectures for JADC2 applications
• Define system requirements for resilient communications in contested RF environments
• Develop and analyze network topology models for mobile tactical networks
• Coordinate waveform, TRANSEC, and COMSEC requirements between radio and crypto subsystem teams and the system-level architecture
• Support government interoperability testing events
• Lead interface design between tactical networks and joint data links (Link 16, Link 22, CDL)

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $200,000 - $235,000
• Annual bonus 10-12%
• Clearance premium included in base
• Hybrid schedule (3 on-site, 2 remote when not in SCIF)
• 401(k) with 6% match plus profit sharing
